[sticky post] Welcome

Welcome to All the Squee. We're a Harry Potter fan community dedicated to celebrating and acknowledging the creativity and hard work of our fellow fans. We do this by commenting on stories, rec'ing fan art pieces, squeeing about creative craft projects, cheering for the hard work of mods and fest organizers, and generally having fun.

There's a million ways to participate. Challenge your fellow fans or take up a challenge. Tell us your ideas for Bingo squares. Grab a card and play for raffle prizes. Help us build the resource directory with examples of all the ways various communities and events are encouraging feedback and support between fans. Have fun coming up with prizes to donate. (Big or little, makes no difference. Every drawble, drabble, icon, or mini-craft item rocks our world.)

No matter what genre, style, or ship you love, come on in and share the squee.

What's your idea for a Bingo square?

Seeking your feedback

all_the_squee did our first prize drawing on March 14th. One player sent in a Bingo and claimed their prize. I don't know if this means that other people were happily Bingo-ing and Challenge-ing away with plans to send in Bingos for a future prize drawing.... or whether it means that there was a problem. So this puzzled mod would like some feedback. Choose any method you'd like: fill out the poll, send a PM, or comment. Feel free to be blunt.

March Drawing Prize!

It's been a while since things have been bustling and moving around here but let's change that! gamma_x_orionis was the winner of the March Bingo Drawing and she won a couple of icons from me so here they are.

-The manip for the 1st icon is from pink_martini2 and the two others from wicked_visions
-Please credit for the manips

-Please do not take these icons unless you are Gamma :D

Have some Disney squeeing icons!

Everyone needs a squee icon!  I made these a while back and am posting them for your use/perusal <3

If none of these appeal to you (and even if they do), make sure to check out evening12's icon post here!

Enjoy them :3

Prize drawing: we have a winner!

We have a drawing winner. gamma_x_orionis entered a 5-square bingo. Gamma, do you want to take a look at the offered 5-square prizes and select one?

There were no cover-alls entered in the March drawing. So those prizes will go unclaimed untill the next drawing.

Also, think about what you'd like to see in the comm. We'll be posting a poll to get feedback about what's working, and what could use tweaking.

Thanks for squeeing with us!
Entries for the March prize drawings need to be in by the end of March 14. To enter you need to comment on any drawings you want to enter. We'll accept your entry as long as it's March 14 somewhere in the world. (And if you squeak it in a tiny bit after that, it will still be accepted if the posts for entering aren't marked "Closed" yet.)

Here's the basics:
* If you have a 5 square bingo, you'll simply need to comment on the "I have a BINGO!" post to enter the drawing for drabbes, drawbles and other fun little prizes.

* If you have covered all the squares and are going to go for one of the big cover-all prizes, you'll need to comment on the "All the squares! I have a COVER-ALL!!" post.

If you are submitting a cover-all be sure to look over the prizes so you can tell us which specific cover-all prize drawing you are entering. If you are close to a cover-all, but can't quite make it, consider the Hufflepuff option: if any two (or more) players combine their fills on any one of their cards, you can enter the prize drawing as a group. For those who'd like to maximize their chances at an individual coverall prize, there is also a special Slytherin Option some of you might want to take advantage of.

Cover-all details are in the post titled "All the squares! I have a COVER-ALL!!"

* Because this is the first round of Bingo drawings, if there was some rule or direction that was open to a different interpretation let us know! We'll do our best to make sure that everybody who made a good faith effort at a bingo --and that's everyone, because you all rock -- is included in the drawings.

The prize winners will be announced by March 17th.

Remember, you do not have to turn in your cards now. If you are working on a cover-all and want to keep going, more power to you.
March cover-all entries are now CLOSED

This is the post for submitting your cover-alls in the March prize drawing. Remember, you do not have to turn in your cards now. If you are working on a cover-all or bingo and want to keep going, more power to you.

We've moved the deadline for entering the March prize drawings back to March 14

Due to inferi eating my brain complete and utter mod fail I didn't put up the entry post for the March drawings far enough ahead of time for people to have a real chance to enter. Therefore everybody gets two more weeks to finish any bingos or cover-alls they want to submit for the March drawings.

So that means:
* The new deadline for entering the March prize drawings is March 14th, and the prize winners will be announced by March 17th.
* The prize drawing posts will go up by tomorrow. You'll simply need to comment on any drawing you wish to enter.

Details of how to enter the prize drawings will be posted by tomorrow, but here's the basics:
* If you have a 5 square bingo, you'll simply need to comment on the "I have a BINGO!" post to enter the drawing for drabbes, drawbles and other fun little prizes.

* If you have covered all the squares and are going to go for one of the big cover-all prizes, you'll need to comment on the "All the squares! I have a COVER-ALL!!" post. If you are submitting a cover-all be sure to look over the prizes so you can tell us which cover-all prize drawing you are entering. There will also be a special Slytherin Option some of you may wish to take advantage of. Details will be in the claims post.

Remember, you do not have to turn in your cards now. If you are working on a cover-all and want to keep going, more power to you.

Also, if there are any squares you are stuck on, speak up! Help will always be given to those that ask for it.

The indispensable beta

Many of us find ourselves wishing quite a bit for good feedback on our creative work. "Was I able to make that bit of characterization realistic?" we ask ourselves. "Did I shade the side of her nose too darkly in that drawing? Was the transition between the third and fourth songs on that mix too sudden?" Alas, however, we often find ourselves without someone to turn to for good, reliable feedback; our friends may not share our fandom proclivities, or perhaps we're making a gift for someone who normally gives us feedback.

Where, then, is a creative fan to turn?

Where do you turn for betas? Do you have friends who beta for you? Are you a member of a beta community? Do you have any advice for the care and feeding of betas?

Let's have a comment free-for-all! Share your advice, knowledge, and resources with us.
